A dissolute older cowboy and his adolescent protégé, Brian, roam a hyper-realistic western landscape in "Death Ranch," a film where nothing is as it seems. Following the mysterious death of their companion, a man known simply as McGibbons, Brian begins to question the validity of his surroundings as his mentor drifts calmly toward violent delusion. When three Japanese strangers arrive suddenly in the night, Brian is forced to make a decision: join a man he no longer trusts in a crusade of meaningless bloodshed or do what he knows in his heart to be right. One way, he loses his life. The other, his soul. Which will he choose?
